These five (5) original final animation drawings of the hapless hunters, a gorilla, and a monkey were created by a Columbia Studio animator in production of the animated Color Rhapsodies cartoon directed by Ub Iwerks, and cel paintings were made directly from them. Iwerks operated his own animation studio from 1931 to 1936, making the Flip the Frog, Willie Whopperand Comicolor cartoons. After the studio closed he directed cartoons for Columbia before returning to the Disney Studio in the 1940s.The animator wrote the studio designations “24”, 12", "27", "130" and "81" at upper or lower right corner to indicate each original's place in the scene
