This expressive original hand-painted animation cel of Sir Ector was created in the Disney ink-and-paint department and photographed during the making of the animated feature based on The Once and Future King by T. H. White. Sir Ector was Wart's foster-father, and most of the film is set in his Castle of the Forest Sauvage. Studio designation “16” appears at lower right to indicate this cel's place in the scene.

The Sword in the Stone Animation Cel Model

This is an Original Photostat Model Sheet from the Disney studios. Model sheets are created in the studio as a reference tool for animators to use in order to keep character design consistent throughout a production. Model sheets were reproduced by photostat methods and passed out to the animators on a project. This piece is an actual photostat model sheet that was used by animators during production. The model sheet measures 11" x 14" and features a great variety of images from the 1963 Disney feature film, The Sword in the Stone.
