This lively, full-figure final animation drawing of the Bulldog Detective, the lead character investigating a murder at Gruesome Gables, was created by an animator in production of the cartoon directed by Tex (Fred) Avery during his peak years at M-G-M, and a cel was made directly from it. This drawing is from the detective's first scene, as he bursts into the mansion and declares: "Who done it? Everybody stay where you are! Don't nobody move!" The animator wrote the studio designation “298” at lower right to indicate this original's place in the scene and/or film. M-G-M Studio stamp denoting production and scene number appears at the bottom.
